 What is a Ghost Experience?
A Ghost Experience is an encounter with the visible form of a dead person. This is not to be confused with a Spirit Experience – which is an encounter with the SPIRIT of a dead person.
Some parapsychologists and Spiritualist mediums argue that what many people call ghosts are simply the residual energy of events and people who have lived at a particular location.
A ghost is a ‘recording’ of events from the past that can be ‘seen’ and experienced by people who have latent clairvoyant ability. This theory explains why some ghosts are seen as repeating the same tasks endlessly – such as walking through walls. The ghost experience is actually a glimpse not into the spirit world but into the past.
Some Spiritualists believe that sometimes a spirit can become ‘earth bound’. Unfinished business and a powerful attachment to worldly things causes the ‘ghost’ to cling to the earth – to become ‘earth bound’. This sort of ghost experience may be a real encounter with a conscious spirit, though Spiritualists are divided about whether the phenomena of Earth bound Spirits is correct.
